Three Decades of Results in Finance

Derek started his career at Accenture, consulting for companies like FedEx, American Express, and Bank of America before moving into wealth management. At UBS and then Morgan Stanley, he earned President's Council recognition, placing him in the top 5% of financial advisors at both firms. He later founded SilverRock Wealth Partners and went on to join MCM Partners, where he sources and evaluates commercial real estate deals, prepares project financial models, and manages relationships with a growing investor base.

About 75% of his accredited investors have backed multiple projects. That repeat participation reflects something that numbers alone don't capture: trust built over years of straight communication and consistent follow-through. His work at MCM Partners centers on opportunities in commercial real estate and private credit, areas that tend to move independently from the daily swings of public markets.

Rooted in Charlotte, Committed to Community

Derek Copeland has called Charlotte, NC home since his early consulting days, and his ties to the city run well beyond business. He served 12 years on the Board of Directors for the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Foundation and sits on the Board of the Charlotte Dream Center, an organization focused on addressing homelessness. For Derek, giving back isn't a side project. It's woven into how he approaches his work and his life.

Married for 26 years with four children, Derek talks openly about wanting the values that guide his family to be the same ones that guide his business. His longer-term goals include writing, podcasting, and creating resources that make private investing easier for everyday people to understand. He believes that education, not just access, is what builds lasting financial confidence.
